Caught Up

"creative and daring contact"
"stunning and totally engaging throughout"
"refreshing piece, inspiring"
Audience members at the first showing of Caught up, April 2008

green bean dance worked at Dance4, where Katie is currently an Associate Artist, for four weeks in April 2008, developing a new trio for Rachel Birch-Lawson, Daniela B. Larsen and Laura Savage and holding open classes and rehearsals. This project was funded by Arts Council England and the Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund.

On the 24th April we premiered work in progress Caught up. Shifting from precariousness to complicity, this new trio is a playful depiction of the ways three individuals learn from and support each other.

We went on to perform Caught up as part of the Heads up platform at Dance Base in Edinburgh on the 22nd August 2008, the Bowen International Conference in Winchester on the 25th October 2008, the relaunch of the On Time Exhibition at the Courtauld Institute of Art on the 13th February 2009, The Jam at The Junction in Cambridge on the 18th February 2009 and Déda in Derby on the 26th March 2009.

Choreography: Katie Green in collaboration with the dancers
Dancers: Rachel Birch-Lawson, Daniela B Larsen, Laura Savage (joined by Rob Guy and Laure Bachelot for the Courtauld Institute and The Junction performances)
Original sound score: Chris Cousins
Photography: Jason Temple, Nuno Santos and Daniel Clarke

Thanks to: all at Dance4, my dancers and class/workshop participants for their time and energy, Suzannah Bedford, Kate Costello and the Arts Council, the Bonnie Bird Award panel, Tom Cornford.
